The National Library of Australia cares for the greatest collection about Australia and the Australian people anywhere in the world. Our comprehensive collection covers extremely rare items such as the journal of the HMS Endeavour, through to contemporary works that give us fascinating insights into the lives and events of Australians such as oral history interviews with Doris Pilkington, the author of Rabbit Proof Fence. The Library is an amazing treasure trove of books, manuscripts, maps, pictures, documents, oral histories and ephemera that vividly tells Australia’s stories.

While our collection is rich and deep and absorbing, we are always looking for more material to add to the collection.

Your help allows us to build a national collection for future generations of Australians to use and enjoy. If you know the whereabouts of any of the items listed below, that is greatly appreciated.
