Current cemeteries and crematoria

Details of current cemeteries, crematoria and memorial gardens in South Australia can be located in several ways. These include:

  • Search of municipality, shire or town council websites eg: A search for 'shire' and 'burra' in Google reveals the entry for the Regional Council of Goyder which encompasses the township of Burra in South Australia.
A browse of the Regional Council of Goyder website reveals a link to 'Cemetery Records' under their 'Services' dropdown menu. The 'Cemetery Records' page lists seven cemeteries within the Council's area of responsibility as well a facility to search not only local cemetery records but also those from other Council areas.
  • Alternatively you can search or locate an up-to-date list and links to Councils via the Local Government Association of South Australia website.

NB: Not all local governments or councils use the same navigation method or have the means to provide an online searching facility but their websites are always worth a look if their area of jurisdiction is where your burials of interest are located.

Adelaide cemeteries and crematoria

The Adelaide Cemeteries Authority administers four cemeteries in the Adelaide area. A Records Search facility is provided covering all four locations, ie:
